Dr. Carol Anne Costabile-Heming, the current chair of the World Languages, Literatures & Cultures department and professor of German has been selected as the 2012 AATG Post-Secondary Outstanding German Educator. The AATG (American Association of Teachers of German) is the only national individual membership organization dedicated to the advancement and improvement of the language, literature, and culture of the German-speaking countries. With over 5,000 members, the AATG is for teachers of German at all levels of instruction.
This prestigious AATG Outstanding German Educator Award is given annually in recognition of innovative teaching, extraordinary talent, and exceptional leadership in the German teaching profession. Professor Costabile-Heming's impact on her colleagues and students is most evident in the numerous letters of support the selection committee received in support of her nomination of the award.
