August 2015 - As part of this year's First Flight Week, faculty are invited to interact with incoming students in a low stress environment during lunch in the dining halls. This will be an opportunity for students and faculty to connect with each other prior to the start of the fall semester. As faculty, you may be asked questions about what students can expect in their first classes, or the students may just want to learn more about you. You may also learn something about the students!
First Flight Week is UNT's official welcome program for incoming students. With programs that both prepare students for various educational opportunities and allow them to meet their fellow peers and encounter faculty, the week is designed to help new students begin their college experience on the right foot.
There will be 3 dining halls open during First Flight: Kerr, Bruce, and Victory. You have the option to select the location that is most convenient for you (although you may be asked to consider a different location depending on the volume of responses we receive). Once at the dining hall, you will be able to mix and mingle with students and eat with them. First Flight leaders will help promote your attendance and point you out to the students.
First Flight groups will be divided into 2 time slots for lunch: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m during the week of August 17-21. A First Flight leader will greet you at the dining hall door to provide you with a complimentary dining card in order to enjoy a free lunch as a small token of our appreciation.
To sign up, simply complete the form (you will need your EUID and password to access the form).
