ACE Fellows

The ACE Fellows Program prepares leaders from all institutional areas to assume leadership posts in higher education.  The Program provides Fellows with the opportunity to spend all or part of an academic year on another campus where they are mentored by senior officers.

Benefits of becoming an ACE Fellow:    

  • Firsthand observation of institutional leaders regarding strategic planning resource allocation, policy formulation, and issues vital to institutional success. 
  • Opportunity in designing individualized learning plan for the year
  • On-the-job learning experience
  • Financial support provided by president or senior staff officer with additional funding dependent on placement of candidate.

UNT Selection Process Requirements:

  1. Brief statement addressing unique qualifications, and how participation as an ACE Fellow would enhance individual leadership skills
  2. Support from their immediate supervisor (chair, dean, vice president)
  3. Vita
  4. A review committee will make the institutional selection  

Formal nominations and application materials for the Fellows are generally due November 1.   Finalists are interviewed in Washington, DC in late January and early February.
